Cleaning up mums PC

    hey guys, bet your getting sick of me now :)

    Anyway, mums having problem with her PC being slow. She downloads a lot of cheesy bigfish games and as long as i can remember i don't think that her PC has ever had any checks for malware or viruses, (shes not exactly PC savvy :-D).

    Thought id try and help her out.

    Can i ask if someone would be so kind as to view the logs and make sure her PC is running smoothly, im pretty sure with all the stuff she has downloaded over the years there will be something nasty on that machine.

    Hey again TimW!

    Yeah, I been busy with productions and trying to fix the issues im having with sound distortion.

    Plus mums been playing those games again and wont let me near the PC haha

    will upload the logs tomorrow

    Hello TimW!

    here are the Logs for my Mums PC. Noticed a few alerts so something is wrong

    will appreciate the help in getting rid of them :)

    Your mother needs to be more careful about where she downloads her games from.

    Rescan with HitmanPro.


    Choose to Delete these files if they are detected:

    • C:\Program Files\1 mums games programs\Bricks of Egypt\BricksOfEgypt.exe
      C:\Program Files\1 mums games programs\Fairway Solitaire\FairwaySolitaire.exe
      C:\Program Files\1 mums games programs\Fairway Solitaire\FairwaySolitaire.exe.bak
      C:\Program Files\Games\Island Tribe 4\island4.exe
    Also have it remove all the Potential Unwanted Programs.
    Afterwards, click the Next button.
    HitmanPro may want to reboot the PC in order for the changes to take affect, please do so.

    Then rescan again and attach the new log. Tell me what issues remain, if any.

    Hi Tim really sorry it took so long for me to reply, sorrt if that seemed a bit rude but i have been insanely busy since xmas

    I am deleting the files you suggested, and have told my mum to be more careful about where she downloads games lol.

    Not a problem.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 4 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
      related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link
