Clearing Browser entries

Firstly, i am new to this forum so hi to all members,
I am hoping someone can help me with this - I use Firefox as my browser, when i type the first letter of a new search, i get all of those previuos entries that started with the same first letter, come up under my new search as other options, how do i get rid of them all together ?
