I just bought into a deal with Clear (clearwire ?) internet and phone service and
wondering if I should continue or discontinue.

After hooking up the modem and booting up, the internet connection did not
work at all nor did the special 192.168.151 address used to access the modem's
settings. Tech support is supposed to be open until 10:00 PM Pacific time yet
when I called at 10:15 PM Eastern time, they were closed for the day.
Not a very good showing for my first try - nothing worked.

So I'm wondering if I should stick with my current setup with AT&T local phone
and DSL internet (which I could also bundle with satellite TV) ?

So what do you geeks think? I don't know anything about the wireless stuff
and currently I am using only a desktop.

    Comments --- Suggestions ?

This post from last summer doesn't speak too highly of this configuration:

I'll point you to a thread at Freedomlist where one of the admins there had real problems with Clearwire and does not recommend it to anyone.

I know, based on his experience in 2009, I'm not tempted to try it if it is offered in my area.

    A quote from that thread:
I experienced something similar. After reconnecting my DSL and opening the
browser, all of the open tabs, ten or more, were all set to home.clear.com.
So my previous session addresses for all of those tabs had been lost.

By the time I read your post, I had already decided to pack it up for return.

I will update this thread about the return/cancellation process for future
