Cmedia 97 Acer Aspire sound driver help!

    I just realized this is the correct area to be making my thread.
    Anyways, after reinstalling XP my sound driver wont work. I tried installing the driver and it always gets corrupt (a caution sign beside it in device manager). It also makes my computer crash frequently when it is installed.

    Well, it seems you're having troubles because the motherboard does NOT use the CMedia audio driver (according to the report). It uses the RealTek audio drivers. So, first, completely remove your current audio drivers. Then download and install your chipset drivers, reboot the PC, then download and install the audio drivers. You can download these drivers from this link. Good luck! Let us know how it goes!
