Is the time and date correct? You might need to replace the CMOS battery.

Toshiba website is useless. Try getting into the setup (CMOS). Usually hitting DEL, F1, F2, F8 or some other key when computer is booting up. Usually on the first screen, it shows time/date, then the hard drives, etc. Make sure the hard drive is set to AUTO (if not, change to AUTO-if possible). It sounds like its looking for your old drive and the new drive is throwing it for a loop?

    I really dislike TOSHIBA..gggrrrr.
In the CMOS setting I did not find any setting for the HD.

Thanks for the help. I think I'll jest live with hitting F1 at power up time.
