Hey all, been a while since I've been here.

Today I started up my computer and I get a message "CMOS Checksum Bad"

It asked me to load default bios or to configure it myself.

I can seem to find the issue here, I have no idea what's wrong.

I'm on an ASUS MB, model K8V SE Delux with Windows XP Pro Op system.

    Thanks.

How long have you had your board could be the cmos battery easy to replace, (also if the time is not being kept in the bios) another symptom of a battery problem

Well I forgot to mention I was trying to update my bios.

    It pretty much broke everything...

But the problem has suddenly fixed itself (by that I mean I can turn on my computer...)

Is there a way to update my bios through windows and tweak the new options in windows?

anytime you update your bios you will have to reconfigure it, that is probably why you got the checksum error.

you will have to change the bios how you did before by pressing del or f2
