combofix issues now unable to access internet via explorer

Hi
I ran your malware removal as per the guide and believe I got rid of my problem system tool 2011. However when I ran combofix it would hang. I would end up with a black screen and no activity on the PC. No error message no well nothing... I rebooted the PC. I tried several times. I have since sucessfully removed combofix however my issue now is that I am unable to connect to the internet via explorer.

I thought I saw a post where this was addressed but can't seem to find this again. :-o

Welcome to Major Geeks!

It would have been very helpful if you had attach the logs from all the scans including MGtools so we could see what was found and removed. Also it would have given me the information so that I would not have to ask about the below.

Removing ComboFix was not a good idea!!! You may have removed backups of files and registry keys that were needed to possibly resolve your problems.

Have you check to see if your problem is related to an unnecessary proxy setting? See the below:

Also have you checked your network settings to see if they are still setup properly. Like to for DHCP ( Automatically Assign and IP Address )....etc.
