Comp Running Hot

    Hello There, i have a compaq presario 2100 laptop, it is a duel boot machine running win98 and winXP, when i use win98 the comp gets very hot (ie. the fans are on full all the time), but when i boot into XP the fans hardly come on at all and comp stays cool virtualy all the time. Any help would be great, Many Thanks, Dave. :)

    Do these exist on seperate drives or??
    There should be no problem with 98 overheating vs xp unless you are running alot of graphics (games -movies) in 98 and not in xp.(xp does manage your hdd-power differently but not enough to notice from 98)
    Is this problem new or ??

    they are both on the same HDD which is partitioned, and the problem has been there since i created the duel boot HDD. Thanks.
