Have a computer that didn't come with any disks, just a hidden partition with the os and programs. Is there a way to backup to disk the recovery programs in the hidden partition?

Some manufacturers do supply a way to burn your own recovery CD/DVD set (even some of those Dell PC's that also have a hidden recovery partition).

I'd suggest you checkout the support section/forum of the makers website to find out how to access yours (if there is a way). Be warned - you will only have 1 chance to make the recovery CD/DVD set, have the correct CDs and DVDs ready before you start the creation process.
