Computer doesn't recognize cd rom

    When I click on "my computer" The cd-rom and dvd-rw showed up as D and E.
    When trying to open a cd, I got a "program not responding"message twice. Now the cd-rom does not appear under "my computer". I tried a system restore to go back a few days,but it didn't help. Any ideas why? Thanks, Tommy

    How strange, the almost exact same thing just started to happen with me (except the files on the CD don't show up). It makes me wonder if there is a new virus or something? I will watch this thread with interest.
