    Hallo MG's
This is my first post here at Major Geeks, but I have been visiting this site off and on for years. This is the first time I've had an issue that I could resolve myself by reading your forums.

My problem goes something like this:
Every few hours my computer tells me there has been an error with services.exe and that 'NT AUTHORITY\System' says I have to reboot.

I can just push the window aside and continue along my merry way without any problems, but if I press OK it gives me a 60 second countdown before my computer is rebooted. The full error message is:

"This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This shutdown was initiated by NT AUSTHORITY\SYSTEM

Message: The system process 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe' terminated unexpectedly with staus code -1. The system will now shut down and restart"

I searched the web for similar errors but mostly came up with status code 128 errors which were sassers and the like. I did some scans with Stinger etc but to no avail.

I have read through the forum
'READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support' and followed all the steps, but I still get that error. I was hoping could help me out. Attached is all the results of all the virus/malware programs. They didnt turn anything interesting up. The only thing was PandaScan flagged some cookies that it would delete for me.

    I appreciate any suggestions.
    Chris

Thanks for the lightning quick response D3m3nt3d. I tried running Spy Sweeper, but I didn’t work. I got all excited because it found a 'potential root kit' ... but a few hours later I received the same error "services.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close
Would you like to: Debug Send Error Report Don't Send"

Ohh yeah ... one thing to note. I tried running 'Spy Sweeper' in safe mode but it was unable to scan.

I ran another HJT ... attached is the file. Just to make life interesting I ran it with the aforementioned error message showing.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
