My computer is running slow and I believe it's infected again. Today I ran all the scans per the Sticky plus others with the following results:

    Spybot: 0
    Spy Sweeper: 0
    Adaware: 0
    Microsoft Antispyware: 0
Ewido: 11-esomniture removed (these are present every time I run a scan)
    HSRemove: removed 8 items
    CWShredder: 0
    Avert Stinger: 0
    Kill2Me: Ran
    About Buster: 0
    Bitfdefender: Adware.Wheaterbug.A (1) & Trojan.Downloader.Small.ABD (2)
RavAntivirus is no longer providing on-line scanning

Two or three days ago I scanned using Microsoft Antispyware. It found and removed winmovie dialer.

Any help will be appreciated. Please give detailed instructions. I have lots to learn about computers. Thank you.

You should have started a new thread since this is a new problem. I'm moving you to one. Your previous thread was a couple months old.

Are you running the new sticky READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Based on what you said it looks more like the old one. The new one makes no mention of HSremove or about:Buster. And some of the other items are alternate steps. You should always look at the current READ ME and not refer to something you have saved. It changes over time.

Just like the READ ME changed so did the HijackThis instructions.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Thank you for your help. I have followed the instructions on the new sticky with the following results:

I cannot go online in safe mode.

    Bit Defender: 3 infected files--Adware.Wheaterbug.A (1), Trojan.Downloader.Small.ABD (2)

Panda: Media-motor spyware (when scanning with Panda, a pop-up appears asking for a new profile name--it seems to stop the scan.)

I was not able to run Trend Micro or TrojanScan.

    Adaware: 0

    Spybot: 0

    Microsoft Antispyware: IBIS Toolbar

    CWShredder: 0

Kill2Me: Look2Me removed if it was present.

Thanks again for any help you can offer.

You have no malware problems showing but you can have HijackThis fix the below remnant from SpywareDoctor:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - (no file)

Your speed problems may be due to running to much. I do not recommend actuall running SpySweeper, Ewido, and MS Antispyware all at the same time for protecting. They are great to use sometimes to fix problems. But for long term, I would use only one. Did you purchase SpySweeper or Ewido?

Also C:\Program Files\BigFix\BigFix.exe has been known to be a resource hog.

    See: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/BIGFIX.EXE-568.html

Wow! HJT log shows no malware? That's good news. However, every time I clean with all the scans, something shows up. I have followed the instructions "How to Protect yourself from malware!"

I have a subscription to SpySweeper, not Ewido. Do you recommend deleting BigFix?

I want to learn to keep the computer clean myself so I don't have to keep bothering you good people at Major Geeks.

Thank you so much for your help.

I would uninstall Ewido and MS Antispyware and keep SpySweeper. Then see how things are running. Then BigFix would be the next item to remove.

If I uninstall Ewido and MS Antispyware, I will not be able to run scans for cleaning. Is there a way to disable them temporarily?

SpySweeper is your scanner! And you also should have (from the READ & RUN ME) Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware SE.

The computer seems to be running much better so far. After being infected before, I'm still concerned about spyware. I'm planning to check back often for new cleaning tips and will run the scans regularly.

Thanks again! I really appreciate your help.
