Computer not running properly

Hello

I have win xp. have been having a problem with some programs. I just installed Citrix on my system, have been doing some work from home, and also happens with gmail. Well i login and the program comes up, but the hour glass stays running and it doesnt finish loading. what i do is
ctrl-alt-del. When the task manager comes the program behind it finishes loading, so i just get out of task manager and im able to continue.
I think theres something wrong, with my program, here are my specs,

Win xp
AMD XII 2.6 Ghz.
2Gb of Ram
500 gb harddrive.

I reinstalled windows on my computer thinking i needed to clean my system, but no luck. Can someone help.
