I have a custom build computer

Using a foxconn mini itx h67s ver 2.0 motherboard ( running most recent bios update)
I am using 8 gb of ram and an intel i7 3770T processor, coupled with a ssd.

    Operating system: windows 8.1

I tested all parts including my power supply 1 by 1 prior to build my new build, everything checked out fine.
My computer shuts off when i tell it to go to sleep. After i wake it up it boots back up but no later than 30 seconds- 1 minute it will shut off completely.

This ONLY happens when wake it up from sleep , if i never enable sleep option the pc never shuts off.

As far back as I care to remember, Sleep and Hibernate have both been unstable, iffy, and just plain a PITA. I totally disable both, on every PC that I set up.
And being a professional PC tech, I do set up quite a few PC's.
Right now, I have seven laptops here in my home, and on every one of them, both sleep and hibernate are totally disabled. It just keeps life a lot simpler.
All my PC's (16 at last count) have just two states, ON and OFF. Anything else can be problematical.

    Cheers Mate, and Happy Holidays!

unstable in windows 8? because i never really had this problem with windows 7

i can't comment too much on windows 8 because i don't really use it much other than another pc i have that already came with it.
I was personally going to use and buy a windows 7 version but the company i worked for had some spare windows 8 boxes they bought about a year ago and gave me so i figured i would just use this.

The ssd definitely works a lot better with windows 8.1 than windows 7

Don't know if this would work for you, but I use a program called SmartPower for sleep issues. It gives you control over the sleep command by giving you the ability to decide which processes block sleep. You can actually turn off the sleep function in Windows and let SmartPower take over. Also, it's invisible in that it doesn't show up in the system tray, which is nice. It's really nice to have total control over the sleep function.
