My computer is acting as if something is taking up most/all of the CPU (but that's not the case) - it's running slow, the mouse pointer freezes and is "jerky", program windows don't always close or resize... I have to try a few times.

I ran CCleaner. I tried running RogueKiller... the prescan stayed at 60% complete for over a half hour (said it was checking hidden processes). I tried twice but it never finished so I couldn't scan with it.

I ran Malwarebytes, TDSS Killer, HitMan Pro and MGTools... the files are attached.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Browser Defender 3.0 <<< Uninstall this.

Re run Hitman Pro and have it remove all the Potential Unwanted Programs.

Try running RogueKiller in safe mode please.

    Delete this:

    • C:\Users\Carter\AppData\Roaming\{0000652B-11B5-56C5-BFC0-A046B7A8B9CD}.exe
What is this? Do you know?

    • C:\ProgramData\\F36C88801B013C2A78D8207DA94EDF88

    Download Cleano 0.61

Download it to your desktop, Right click the cleano.exe file and run as admin > and place check marks in the boxes as follows (click on link below to see image)

    View attachment 148092
Click clean now and exit the program.

[IMG] Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.

Run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.
Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running!

Hi Kestrel13!... thanks for your help!

    - I was not able to delete Browser Defender 3.0 - it gave a Runtime Error message, couldn't import .../SDDRMHelper.dll

    - My trial version of Hitman Pro has expired, so it won't let me delete anything

    - RogueKiller ran in safe mode, log attached.

    - I deleted the first file you listed, I don't know what the 2nd one is

    - I ran Cleano 0.61 as directed

    - I ran JRT, log attached

    - I ran MGtools/Getlogs, zipfile attached

EDIT - computer is still running the same...

    Download and run OTM.

Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    • Run OTM.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).
    • Paste the following code under the [IMG] area. Do not include the word Code.

    Code:

    :reg
    [-HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID\wit4ie.DLL]
    [-HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID\{20EDC024-43C5-423E-B7F5-FD93523E0D9F}]
    [-HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\AppID\wit4ie.DLL]
    [-HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\AppID\{20EDC024-43C5-423E-B7F5-FD93523E0D9F}]
    [-HKU\S-1-5-21-1385485374-1575447589-2629669108-1001\Software\Microsoft\KanarCore]

    :Files
    C:\Users\Carter\AppData\LocalLow\zoomify

    :Commands
    [emptytemp]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large [IMG] button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it into a text file to ATTACH into your next reply.

NOTE: If you are unable to copy/paste from this window (as will be the case if the machine was rebooted), open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and attach the contents of that document back here in your next post.

    How're things running?

I copied the text into OTM. It executed the code, got to emptyTemp and seems to be hung up. There is a green progress bar that slowly moves across the box, then does it again. There are no changes to the Results box. It's been doing this for an hour, is this normal? I didn't run in safe mode and I didn't disable my AV.

I'm willing to wait all night for this to finish if its working properly! Based on the Results box it seems all the temp files were emptied... I don't know why it isn't moving to the Reboot command.

    Thanks again!

EDIT FROM MY PREVIOUS POST: OTM is still in the same look... it's been cycling for over two hours now... the green progress bar is moving but the Results box isn't changing. It looks like its at the end and should be ready to reboot... but it's not happening...

It (OTM) ran for over three hours, and was making no progress. I finally terminated the program and rebooted. Attached is the log file.

There is still an issue... opening files, closing/resizing windows, etc. It's not my mouse, I tried a 2nd one that I know works perfectly and it has the same issues.

    Thanks again for the help!

The issues you have do not sound like malware. Please re run Hitman again and attach log.

Hi Kestrel13! - my computer seems to be working fine now. Not sure what changed, if deleting/moving the files you suggested did the trick. I've attached the latest Hitman log. I think it's good to go but please let me know if there's anything else I need to do (including cleanup). Thanks again!!

Excellent. Glad to hear all is well. :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
