I was in my control panel removing a certain programme I didn't want when I noticed

    Confidence Online(tm) for Web Applications

    listed.

Does anyone know what this is?

Yes its security software from WholeSecurity, now part of Symantec ( makers of Norton ) http://www.wholesecurity.com/

if your PC is used as part of your company or is your company's PC then the Admin dept may have installed it, for when your VPNing or checking corporate email.

    Thanks for replying.

My pc is for home use only. Maybe I've installed it as part of a package or something. I dunno.

I used to use Norton but switched over to McAfee almost a year ago.

I would create if your windows version is ME/XP a system restore point and uninstall that software and see how you go.

quick question tho before you do that, is your ISP Earthlink? reason is they bundle norton apps with their service and I did read in some literature a mention of that software.
