Converting DVDs and movie maker programs

    Im doing this project for my history class and need to find a way to cut clips out of this DVD to use in a documentary me and a few people are putting together. Im using Windows Movie Maker and it cant grap chunks directly off of the disk. How would I be able to do this? And is there a better and easier program to make movies with?
