Copyright Signature ?

Can anyone suggest a free editing program/software for putting ones name- initials/signature on your photos ? I know there's photoshop and the like but if anyone can suggest a free program to do this would be much appreciated ? Many thanks, "Roseman" down-under in Oz

 

I am not familiar with many of these http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads37.html but several mentioned watermark capability.
