Corrupt Office Files & Windows Installer pops up continuosly ?

    I get this message on my latptop when I try to open Outlook:

    C:/Program Files/Common Files is corrput run chkdsk to fix the problem. I run chkdsk and its does nothing, says it can not carry on in read only mode (!) I'm lost on that one.

    Outlook wont open as the error message says OUTLOOK.EXE is corrupt and OSA.EXE is corrupt.

    Windows seems to want to install something every 5 mins, and constantly tries to install.

    I've googled this loads but cant seem to pinpoint it. Can anyone help ?
