could my SPEAKER issue be because of my ethernet to usb switch?

    i was using VERZION DSL previously..then i switched to COX..when on verzion i used ethernet..with COX i use USB..and now my speakers dont work..could that be the issue?

    Intel Pentium 4, 1600 MHz (16 x 100)
    Compaq Presario
    Intel Brookdale i845D
