Counterstrike Virus........... help me out

alright well im almost 100% this is NOT a virus , my steam (program used) to play counterstrike does not download viruses because its extremely reliable. It was updating my counterstrike and then all of a sudden it starts detecting hl.exe and hlds.exe (application used to run counterstrike) as viruses.. I have absolutely no clue why? it hasnt given me a problem like this in all the time ive been playing counterstrike..

it says the virus is name is called Win32:Steam-AS [Trj] ... im thinking the virus definition by avast! just recently starting putting this in or something..

* not sure if this in the right place since it a game but also involved avast!

im just wondering any way to put these programs in some sort of safe list so avast! wont gimme this problem because as of now i cannot run counterstrike.. i cant seem to find any avast! safe/approved list

It might be a false positive. Have you tried having the two files scanned singly to make sure they aren't infected? You can try having them scanned at any of the below and see what results you get back.
jotti or VirusTotal , virus.org, Kaspersky or at viruschief

well i had a virus , but now my comp runs perfectly .. chaslang said it was in good health.

So i used Jotti and here are the results for hl.exe and the same thing for hlds.exe

funny thing says avast! found nothing but anyway my avast! has expired so i gotta re-register it..

If that many antivirus programs find it clean, then it was probably a false positive. As long as your computer is running all right, that is what matters.
