CPU-Z misreading multiplier setting on Q6600?

Hey guys. I recently built my new system and I ran a CPU-Z after overclocking.

I have 2 GB of Super Talent performance ram in dual-channel overclocked from 800 to 1066. CPU-Z verifies this.

For some reason, even though I set the multiplier to 9x and the bus speed to 333 it only reads the lowest multiplier 6x.

When I right-click My Computer and check the properties my CPU is running at 3.0 GHz from 2.4 stock speed of the Q6600.

Am I really running at that speed and is CPU-Z just not getting the multiplier right?

Are you running the latest version of CPU-Z?

Turn on Prime95 or something that will use some processing power. SpeedStep is stepping the multiplier down to 6x. The instant Prime95 or something similar gets turned on it will jump to the multiplier you have it set at.
