hey all ive been crashing while I do gaming and ONLY when gaming. i dont exactly know what the problem is...
I have completely brand new parts that have all been RMAed from the manufacturer

    Specs:
Processor: 3.6 ghz AMD phenom II black edition dual core
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 Corsair Vengence
GFx: AMD Radeon 6770 1GB DDR5 XFX card
    Mobo: Asus Evo m79xtd board

Also are some attached minidumps to try and help solve the issue.
when i crash it basically goes to a screen that has no BSOD, but its all combined colors and its just a big weird image etc. it wont restart on its own either itll just sit there completely until i power it down on my own.

    Please help! :<

edit: for some reason it wont let me add the minidumps because of an old thread that i have.

  3. Could it be that you have to many processes running? Or perhaps you have corrupt files in your game file. Is it with all your games or just one?

its all different types of games. not just one lol.

It could be a heat related problem.
Check that your system is free of dust and debris.
I want to say download speedfan and check out your temps, but I'm not sure if speedfan is the correct program so don't quote me on that please. Having a brain laps when it comes to program names today.

yeah. everything is completely clean on the inside. no problems there. ill look into speed fan and see what the temps come as.

Try attaching just the dumps that are more recent than your old thread.

I have the dumps now. Only 2 and one of those shows some signs of corruption, so it'll be difficult.

Feels like bad drivers are responsible; uninstall all ASUS 'Utilities' completely, reboot then download the latest ATK0110 driver from the utilities section here: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A79XTD_EVO/#download extract the files to a new folder, in Device Manager > System devices > ATK0110 ACPI Utility < ---- update this from the drivers in the new folder.

You have 2x drivers that are part of a copy Protection system, they pre- date W7, so are suspect, try http://www.tagesprotection.com/ for an update (they may be game protection related, I really don't know).

Your Marvell mv61xx.sys driver is very old, update it (ASUS downloads?).

Any virtual drives/drivers/networking drivers can cause problems, you may want to uninstall all of these utilities until you know the computer is stable. Pay attention to uninstalling Daemon Tools, the sp**.sys driver is difficult to remove, use the method here: http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/faq

okay the one thing i dont exactly know is how do i uninstall all the asus utilities?

  12. bisaha21

    bisaha21 Private E-2

also is the marvell driver a BIOS driver update? will that fix it?

  13. satrow

    satrow Major Geek Extraordinaire

I think anything ASUS in (Add/Remove) Programs will be utilities, check in Start > Programs > ASUS.

The Marvell driver is not a BIOS update, it's for RAID/SATA drivers. I don't think it's a case of just updating the BIOS - but we might later.

It's hard to be sure from only one 'good' minidump but I suspect the most likely problem drivers to be the ATK0110 ACPI Utility, some of the ASUS drivers and Daemon Tools. The game protection drivers might also be playing a part.

  14. bisaha21

    bisaha21 Private E-2

roger that. Okay well the ATK driver is installed and updated. the marvell driver is installed and updated and also the game protection drivers are all updated. i still use daemon tools currently is it really that big of a problem?

just scored this BSOD minidump while trying to play XCom: enemy unknown.

http://carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=sptd.sys < Yes, for some computers, DaemonTools is a very big problem. It's probably only a problem in rare combinations with other drivers and settings, as yet, I really don't know.

Uninstall PC Probe and AMD Overdrive/EasyTune6. Any virtual driver is also a possible culprit, you can uninstall them during testing.

We can try to flush out a bad driver by using Driver Verifier - read and follow the following instructions very carefully: http://www.techsupportforum.com/for...-windows-7-and-vista-bsod-related-473665.html

Can you get into Safe Mode and check the System and Applications logs around the time of the failed boot, may be something useful there. You can export the logs as the default *.evt and zip and attach them.
