I have just bought a CD-R (100 min, 900 MB) and have tried to copy a file of 847MB onto it but it won't let me!? Also my computer reports that the CD only has 702MB free?? Can anyone help.

You can overburn a cd, but I don't think that it'll stretch to an extra 145MB! What type of disc is the source and what type of drive is reading it??

It sounds like you may have downloaded the file...??

He says he has a 100 min 900 MB CDR and he is trying to copy 847 MB of data onto it.

Paul, your CD burner must support 100 min discs.

Not many do, and the few that do, don't work very well.

It's only reporting 702 MB because it doesn't support or detect any bigger than that.

Stick to using standard 80 min 700 MB CDR's and split the file up or invest in a DVD burner.

do you mean yellow exclamation point?
if so that means there is a problem with the device.
click properties and see if you can find whatever the problem is.
