Crystal Report

hi friends
i am using Access(office xp/2000) as backhand to VB.i'm facing a problem after i install the package.
As i run the s/w and try to see the Report(Crystal report 4.5) it gives me a error "run time error '20534' error detected by database DLL ". and the program stop executing.
i've tried to convert the database to a prior version and then it's working but as soon as i give password to the database it again starts giving error that somebody is already using the database or not a valid password.
Is it necessary to have vb/visual studio installed on the PC on which i'm loading the project.
pls. see to the problem and send the solution ASAP.it's really urgent.
