Right, so I have a Creative Model CT6980 Graphics Card otherwise known as a TNT2 nVIDIA RIVA M64/32MB, but I cannot find a good XP driver for it. There seem to be massive problems with TNT2 nVIDIA RIVA M64 driver such as making the system fail to recognise the card, a bit of a problem, and as I am working on someone elses system I am under orders not to destroy it. Therefore does anyone know of a low risk XP driver that would do for this card?

Try this site: http://www.driverguide.com Requires registration w/ a valid email address but it's free and you get a certain number of free downloads a month... in the meantime, I'll do some more research. If you can't find anything at driverguide, I'll post a link here.... GOOD LUCK!!!! You should find what you need at driverguide.

OK- after some intense searching, I found the driver at Creative Europe/UK. They say it's an update, but Creative driver 'updates' are usually fully functional drivers with updated features (like DX9c support). Anyway, here the link:
    http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppo...&driverlang=1033&OS=10&drivertype=0&x=28&y=16

    GOOD LUCK!!!!

BTW- The official name of your card is GraphicsBlaster RIVA TNT2 Value/3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 M64...

Thanks for the solution Hopperdave2000. I will try this out later today. I know trying to find this driver is a major pain and I appreciate the effort. Will let you know how it pans out later today.

So I seem to be hitting a common problem here. Whenever I require anything that needs to load OpenGL, it just fails, in otherwords it will not load OpenGL. I have tried the drivers listed above, and nothing seems to correct this problem. I am wondering if there is an underlying hardware issue here. Cant see there should be.

Could not load OpenGL. Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your video card from the manufacturer's web site.

Yep, tried all the drivers suggested, and a handfull of other drivers. nothing makes any difference. From looking around I am not the only person to have this trouble.

First reinstall the offical nvidia drivers, then try uninstalling reinstall cod, then apply any patches for cod.

It's definitely a COD issue..... try uninstalling the game and all display drivers and rebooting.... then install display drivers and DX9c/OpenGL updates... then install the game again..... good luck!!!! It may be that COD and your card are not compatible.... as mentioned above, check for patches at COD's web site.....

Its really strange, anything that requires OpenGL has the same problem, not just COD. I have seem a few forums that identify running openGL as a prob on this card, but no solution has been offered. Problem is apart from knowing what OpenGL does, I dont know anything about it. Good thing is it primarily affects games on the system. I will have another crack at it on the weekend, but am running low on ideas.

OpenGL is a graphics/3D rendering standard similar to DirectX.... you might want to consider a video upgrade. You can get a WAY better AGP video card (Geforce6200:128 or 256mb) for under $100. I think your card may be too old for the current OpenGL standard.....

Yeah I was thinking in terms of this being a hardware problem, but just cant work out the mechanics of why. The card was an old one that I had planned to use in another computer, but because of the voltage being wrong for that mb, I could not fit it so used it in another build. Probably is upgrade time...
