Hi, hope you can help me understand something please,

    My operating system is XP
Microsoft service pack 2 loaded plus all critical Microsoft updates
    Norton pack also fully updated

Spybot continually brings up 'DSO Exploit' after each sweep. I instruct
it to delete- which it says it does, but on next sweep its back again.

Question; If I have all the Microsoft critical updates installed, does this
mean the 'DSO exploit' is no longer a threat, but just an irritation? or
is it still a threat, in which case how do I get red for good ?

    Thanks

    Hello Robbie,

Just install the new patch for Spybot S & D (link below) and rescan your system. With the new patch, DSO Exploit will be removed no problem.

Many thanks Nagoya for your prompt reply.
I have looked at the link and see that providing I have all the Microsoft patches and updates (yes) that it presents no problem, so I guess best thing to do is just leave it alone.

    Thanks again

Terrific - all explained in layman's terms. Like I said, I think I will leave it
alone rather than mess with the registry.

    Thank you

    Robbie
