Daylight Savings Time lives on.

Help me kill it on my computer! Please!
Western Australia had a trial of DST over three years and (fank Gawd) the trial ended in March this year. It won't be back.
Microsoft put out a patch in 2006 to make the adjustment automatic. I've just noticed that the patch is still active, my computer is showing 6:50 AM when it should be 5:50.
I tried to install this patch

but I get an error message that a newer or same time zone update has already been installed.

Plodr, thanks, I've downloaded the hotfix. When I open it, get a question about which folder the files should go to, no information at the link about this.
I'm guessing C:/WINDOWS, but that is only a guess...

 

Sorry, I really don't know. It has been so long since I've had to apply a DST patch that I can't remember.

Even this old article shows the registry key changes but doesn't indicate where the patch belongs.

I assumed the patch would be an "exe" or "reg" that you would click on to run and it would install.

 

The solution may be simpler than either of us imagined... we had the same problem at work today and the boss said to open the time and date settings and uncheck the DST adjustment. So far, so good.

 

Just a follow-up to say the unchecking has done the job and my computer is now back in sync with the rest of WA.
A simple solution from Microsoft - what next?
