DCOM Settings

I have this annoying error message with install shield, and one of the fixes is to change my DCOM Settings, BUT whenever I try to get to the computers tab it closes..

In detail: I hit Start > Run and type in 'dcomcnfg' and the Component Services launches. I double click Component Services, click on the computers icon and it just close automatically every time.

Why oh why does it do this ?
Also, how do I check if I have administration rights, i'm pretty sure I do, seeing as this is the only account on the computer, but I would like to know how to check anyways.

Edit: Running Windows XP Pro, with the Sp2 installed.
