    Hi All

I am hoping someoine can help here

    I have a 1GB stick DDR3200 (400)

When my PC boots up it says memory frequency DDR226 !

My question is does anyone know what would cause my system to run the memory at 226 when I have faster mem installed?

I have been in the bios an the only settings are Auto or DDR226.

Is it one of the other internal components holding the speed back and the motherboard auto adjusts to the corect speed as I have heard this can happen, if so which one is it likley to be ?

    Cheers All

Is it 226 or 266? 226 sounds like a very strange number.

    226?? Do you mean 266?

If your processor has a 133MHz bus your memory will run at 266MHz (DDR=double data rate) regardless of the memory's rated frequency. Your memory cannot work faster than the processor.

Opps yeah sorry I meant 266

I have just checked and the CPU has an FSB of 400mhz.

But does this really mean 100mhz as I read that Intel procesors have 4 clocks per cycle ?
