Deleted Shortcuts reappearing

Hi, I have a windows 7 desktop, I have 3 video shortcuts with 0 bytes in them, they keep reappearing after deletion & multiply, have tried several fixes, but no luck so far, Any ideas?

Post what you've tried so we don't go round in circles offering you suggestions that you've already tried.

 

I have tried emptying the icon cache, deleting in safe mode, deleting from desktop, & emptying recycle bin.

 

What are the names of these shortcuts?

 

Programs you might try: move on boot (will delete files before windows starts), who lock me (will show handles on the file so you can remove any)

I had one 0 byte file that no program would remove. I fired up a linux live distro, Porteus, and that got rid of it for good.
The advantage of Porteus is that it is small (doesn't take long to download), fires up and configures automatically. Without ever using it, I was able to see my Windows files, find the one I wanted to remove and right click it and select delete from within linux.
