I have Windows XP. When I click on "control panel", "display", and "desktop", I get the list of available backgounds/wallpapers. Well, someone has downloaded some backgounds that I don't want in there. How do I delete them?

It depends on where they are on the PC. You can click Start > Search > All files and folders and be sure to enable searching in system and hidden folders. Then type in the name of one of the wallpapers. Chances are, they will all be in the same place. A common location for wallpapers is here: C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper so look in there too...
