Dell 600m

HELLO ALL!!

Well, it seems Iam have a problem with my Inspiron 600m, on the left side (above the head phone jack) it seems to be turning black, and I cant wash it off. What can I do? I mean I dont know what the *edit* heck*/edit* is wrong with this thing, its soo bad the paint is coming off :S is this normal? I mean the thing is maybe 4/5 months old, and isn't heavily abused, just normal wear and tear! and the paint is coming off. any suggestions as to cleaning this? If I call Dell will they help me out? I mean its kind of ridiculous that the paint is coming off... I wanna know what you guys/gals think Thanks

Looks like heat could possibly be burning it up? Do you keep your hand rested there when using it?

 

yes. but wouldn't this happen on the other side? and not just turn it black(like its dirty)? I mean this started like two weeks after I got it, and now I just cant take it anymore, it used to look nice...now it looks like crap! The people on the Dell forum said to contact Dell because it looks like a cosmetic defect :S we'll see what they say :S

 

Yeh it looks like a problem with their end, the finish probably. Does it seem to get hot much?

 

I'd say the finish on Dell laptops (my experience with 1150) is very weak. I have it wearing off (no, not peeling) in several areas on mine where the rubber contacts of the upper flap come down on the palm-rest. If your laptop is like mine, the original color is grey, which doesn't explain the blackness however.
