I purchased a new Dell Inspiron 1521 notebook. I find that it gets very hot and am concerned as Dell had overheating battery problems in the past.

Is there a utility to test the temperature of the system, or the battery in particular?

Laptops usually run a little on the warm side. Especially the longer they run. This is due to a lack in air management. You could get a chill mat. I think that's what they're called. They help.

As far as testing it, if it hasn't burst into flames then you're probably good.

Thanks Padams. I will see what I can find.

I am very reassured that if it hasn't caught fire I should be ok!:clap:D
