So my laptop has 4 usb ports, 2 on the side and 2 on the back. My Microsoft wireless mouse does not work with 3 out of 4 of them. Now on the port number 4 the mouse only works for a minute or so. My plug in for the wireless mouse will blink its green light and while the light blinks my mouse works, kind disjointedly. But when the blinking light finally goes solid, indicating a full connection (as the mouse manual says), the mouse decides no to work at all. Any suggestions?

On a side note, I heard that if your laptop battery is not working properly, then your mouse will not work at all. I checked my power source, and it says that my Current power source is AC power, and my Total battery power remaining is 19%. If so, how do I charge my battery, I do not see an option for it any where?

    Thanks
    Brahman.

I had the same problem with my Vostro 1000. I thought it was caused by the mouse (the Belkin that came with the accessory package). I switched to a wired USB mouse. Everything else I plug into any of the USB ports works fine.
