dell xps with raid off install vista, then does not go past a POST

    dell xps will only install vista 32 with raid set to off auto detect,
    When it does a power on self test it does not see drive. installed flash bios 07
    late yesterday..tried cmos reset this set the raid back to its default. tried to format drive with ubuntu 11.4. still no luck dell had no answer.. any idea`s would be thankful.....

    bought a new hd.. old must of had bad sector..left raid on install had no problems,,,had to be hd all the time.. looked to hard into it...
