OK, first of all hello all.
Now, to get to the problem:
2 days ago I decided it is time to reinstall windows. the problem with the old one is that even though it recieved/downloaded windows updates, it could not install them (dunno the reason). So i re-installed it (fresh one aka format) and after I installed the drivers. After installation (of the drivers) in logged in and, after ~1 min the desktop freezed. For 30 sec i could move the mouse but when i clicked somewhere, nothing. After the mouse freezed two. So i rebooted, logged in and ~1 min after -> same thing. I boot-ed windows CD, repair, logged-in SAME THING. I don't know what to do next. It works in Safe mode fine but in normal mode it freezes.

This is all the info of my PC (from SIW):
    Software txt

LE: i was about to create same file but with the Hardware part. problem is: it freezes (even in safe mode) if i do that. If i don't it works fine though. So if the first file is not enough i'll see what i can do.

The above "software txt" link takes you to a file sharing site, then a porn site. So beware. If the problem posted above is elgit, I'd say it's a hardware issue. Run a full diagnostic on the RAM and hard drive. If the problems occur only after installing drivers, then either on of those devices is bad, or the driver is corrupt or not installing correctly. Install one driver, reboot, and use the PC for awhile. If it's OK, install a second driver, reboot, and use the PC for awhile again. Repeat. After one of the driver installs, when it locks up, you'll know which driver it is....

Again- beware the link in the OP's post. It ended up at a porn site when I clicked it. First a file sharing site opened. I clicked on nothing; I just scrolled down looking for the "list" from the above post. When I closed the file sharing site, a porn site was open 'behind' it, and Major Geeks was gone. I had to close my browser and start over (and run a quick scan to be safe ;) )

This microsoft resolution did the trick on my friends computer as far as getting the automatic updates to work again after we did put in a new motherboard and had to run the repair.:)

Hi, I needed to mention that the commands need to be entered in the windows directory. In the cmd box in the dos mode type cd\ <enter>and then type cd\windows and <enter> to get to the windows directory or cd\windows <enter>may get you there. then follow microsofts instructions under method 1. that's what worked for me.

sorry i uploaded the file on a website i think it was a bad website, i re-uploaded it on another hopefully a better one.

here it is: http://www.sendspace.com/file/vt0k8z (the link is down of the page aka: Download Linke: Software.txt)

I want to delete the link in my first post but i can't edit it (thx for attentioning me).

@alontheriver hopefully i won't need to use the link you gave me. i allready re-installed the windows so i think i will get rid of the problem.

I will do as dlb sayd but first i will wait for someone to download the software file hopefully finding the problem and i won't have to install windows for the 10'th time. I am so sick of it. Anyway, is there a software to help me diagnosticate (sry if i wrote bad the word but english is not my first language) my hardware. I mean something to tell me IF let's say the RAM is broke or something else. and again sry for the "porn site" issue :-s
