Desktop Icons have gone blank?

Hello All.

All of my desk top icons have turned into white squares with a blue bar at the top. The name of the icons are still shown under them. I have tried restarting my computer several times with no luck. Any suggestions?

System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Professional
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Computer:
Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz
2.79GHz, 512 MB of RAM

I have used 37.9 GB of my 111 GB Drive C

 

Download Tweakui from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

and then go to the repair tab and select Rebuild Icons

That should hopefully sort you out.
