Here's the skinny...I've been reading a taking in a ton of information cuz I would really like to build my next computer and would like to do it soon. I've chosen all my components for the PC but the only thing I'm getting hung up on is the power supply and making sure I have all the right connections/cables...I just can't figure it out. Here's what I have so far:

    Processor:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Conroe 1066MHz FSB LGA 775 Processor Model BX805576700

    RAM:
    (2) CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400C4

    Motherboard:
ASUS P5W DH DELUXE/WIFI-AP Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard

    Case:
    Thermaltake’s Kandalf

    Sound Card:
Creative SOUND BLASTER X-Fi Platinum 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

    Video Card:
    ATI 100-435705 Radeon X1800XT 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card

    Hard Drive:
    (2) Western Digital Caviar RE WD2500YD 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

    CD/DVD-ROM Drive:
    SAMSUNG Black 18X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 18X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2M Cache E-IDE/ATAPI DVD Burner

Theres all of it I think. I would like to use a Thermaltake PSU if possible or hell, just whatever is gonna work great and look good at the same time. Thanks for any help your able to throw my way.

Wow. That comes nowhere close to todays technology. Couldn't find my processor or video card on that, only 2 year old stuff that only uses half the power.

I think your choice of power supply will end up depending on afew things, ie, will you be overclocking, and will you be adding in another video card for crossfire. If you will not be going crossfire in the future, or wont be overclocking that much, i think a 550 watt flavor power supply would be more then enough power. Keep in mind any extra stuff like lights and temp read out displays/gauges. If you are planning on overclocking or going crossfire a more powerfull supply might be needed. Something along the lines of a Fortron Group. So to recap, if you do decide to oc/crossfire this would fit the bill:

    If not, this should suffice:

    (yay for modular cables!)

Thanks fellas...I don't know about going with crossfire but maybe and yes I will have some liquid cooling devices and temp read-outs, fan control, stuff something like that so I guess I'll just go ahead and go with the big one!
