    Hello Everyone, Im having a problem I can't repair. I have tried new drivers, updates drivers, uninstalls, new graphics card, new power supply, BIOS updates, every registry tool avail. and just about every spyware, virus tool out there. My system is perfectly clean but I cant get rid of this error. It started right after I uninstalled DVD X Copy Platinum. In device manager under my display adapters, im getting "Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)". I have looked everywhere for a solution but the only thing I found was delete some registry keys which I did but didnt resolve my problem. If there is ANYONE out there who knows anything about this please help me. I have a 200 GB HDD with loads of critical data. I dont want to format but I might have to. PLEASE HELP! Thank You & God Bless!

    Haven't had this problem myself, but maybe these quotes can give you some inspiration:

    Else you could try to:
    - Visit the support forum of the DVD-application,
    - Use System Restore
    - Make a repair install on top of the existing install.

    Hey, thanks for you response...its my video adapter not cd/dvd rom. Im a MCP but this flew over my head. Anyway ive been thinking and i came up with this solution.

    Click Start
    Click Run
    Type in "regedt32"
    navigate to this key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Delete "UpperFilters"

    Close "regedt32" and restart

    This should fix your device manager error code 41 on your video adapter

    This worked for me!

    Thanks for your response!
    GOD BLESS!

    I have a similar yet tougher problem. You see, I had the same code 41, but I fixed it. Now, the CD drive can be seen and reads data on the disc, but it can't burn anymore! Is there a way to troubleshoot this or should I try the new hardware wizard?
