device manager not displayed

    I just noticed a computer that doesn't display Device Manager under the Computer Management window. The computer is running Windows XP Home SP3. A quick Google search yielded nothing useful. Others have seen it display for a moment & disappear - that was likely related to a virus. But this never displays at all. Has anyone seen this before? How do I enable/view Device Manager?

    try using the run box, and type devmgmt.msc

    also, it should be in the system control panel (you can get it by right-clicking the My Computer icon and select properties) click the hardware tab. should be a button there.
