    How do I get rid of this message?
    I have selected No and it keeps showing everytime I open Devices and Printers.
    I'm prepared to edit the Registry.

    You have probably already found this Eldon, but just in case -

    I stopped mine (Win7 Ultimate X64) using gpedit Computer Configurations, System, Device Installations, and enabled Prevent Device Metadata Retrieval from Internet.

    It worked for the OP on that occasion

    What do those running Windows 7 without Group Policy do?

    BTW It's Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Device Installation.
