Dial up Connection and Win XP LAg

    every time i connect to the net, and play games... i usually get split second lag... like every 10 sec or so... im not sure whats causing this. any suggestion?

    my rig:

    AMD Duron 1.2 @ 1.5
    Asus a7s333
    256 ddr
    20 gb HD
    d-link internal modem
    Win XP pro SP1

    Not trying to be argumentative, but I just want to point this one little tidbit out ;):

    115.2kbps is the port speed, not what you are connected at. I used to work for an ISP and many modem inits we handed out had this same side effect, but made the connection better for the customer. May not be faster, but made throughput more consistent, which is more important, esp. in games.

    Basically, the 115.2kbps is a cosmetic thing, it doesn't mean a thing.
