Dialers and other files -SpyBot

Hi,

When I run Spybot Seek and Destroy, and I look at the files it checks as it is doing the search, I see some files such as Dialer_XX, XXXDialer and TeenXXX etc. and alot of other files with dialer in the name aswell, but obviously Spybot doesen't find anything wrong with these. And I just ran it again and noticed that it scanned alot of CoolWWWSearch files and yes, i have just downloaded CoolWWWSearch.Smart Killer aswell and both AdAware and Spybot are up to date.

It's just worrying to see such files, and was wondering does this happen to anyone else?

I just realised that there is another file seems to be scanned which is AdGoblin but yet stilll nothing comes up in SpyBot to say there is something wrong with the file.

Those are the things that Spybot checks for. Just because they're checking for them, doesn't mean you actually have them. At the end of the Spybot scans what happens? What are the results? Does it say you have a dialer?

Frogo make sure you update your Spybot as well (if you haven't already), it's very important

 

Yes Spybot is updated.

And yes CaNoFzOo, that was what I am talking about. So it is only searching for these files while not actually the files being searched. Nope, it doesent say I have a dialer at the end etc.

Phew, for a second there I thought I had a major problem.

Don't worry, you're not the only one. When I first got Spybot I was trippin' out over that too.
