Direct ethernet= yahoo, wireless = no yahoo

So i use yahoo as my home page and search engine and e-mail etc. It is my home on the internet. My friend a week ago gave me a linksys 2.4 GHz wireless usb network adapter. Ever since then I will start firefox and yahoo won't open. It used to be I would have to open it in another tab. Now it won't open at all. It will on some rare occasions.

It's not mozilla, i have uninstalled and re-installed it. When i plug the ethernet into the back of my computer, it will come up. When i use my network adapter, it won't. It's the wierdest thing.

 

Is yahoo the only site giving you an issue while using the Linksys 2.4GHz USB Wireless Adapter?

 

Pretty much. I can get to all of my bookmarks and favorites no problem.

 

Confirm your actually connecting to your personal wireless network, not some random other network, as said other network may be filtering yahoo for some reason. Which would be bypassed by the direct Ethernet connection.

 

I'm pretty sure I am on my own wireless connection. I go into my network connections> properties of wireless network connection > and under the wireless networks tab sais Available Networks: and under that it sais "To connect to an available network, click Configure". With the option of default in the box. So basically there is no more than 1 option for my network connection.

 

Look ate he preffered List of Wireless Networks.

Delete all the names but your SSID, secure your Network and uncheck Auto connect... connect to any Network.

I clicked configure and the window to the right came up. Then the window to the far right is the same window, just under the authentication tab.
