"Disk is not formatted" error for all drives

Hi,
I am getting a "Disk is not formatted, do you want format it now" dialogue box when trying to access all my drives except C (i.e.- A,D and E) from My Computer or Run. The cd/dvd rom drives work with auto run cd's and music but i can't open open or explore the properties of any floppy or cd without getting format error box. I have tried removing the floppy from the device manager and letting it reinstall on reboot but it didnt help. The device manager says alll the drives are working properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
