I have had problems with display on my VDU which vibrates/moves, and had thought that this was a mobo (onboard graphics) problem, but after installtion of new mobo (again with onboard graphics) the display still does the same, any ideas?
Is it the 7 year old monitor?

Check to see if any other appliances are nearby. The magnetic field from the transformer of other equipment can cause a aggrivating vibration.

Like a TV or a Subwoofer speaker?

near to the monitor, not near to the computer. I have seen this from a multiway mains adapter as well.

Thanks for help.....I will have to shuffle my gear around, as monitor has always lived beside subwoofer & multiway mains adapter, and a TV sits approx. 10" away....

You might try degaussing the monitor, if you can find the setting. I had at one point an orange spot on my monitor which turned out to be from an egg timer.

My father has a space heater in his den under the computer desk. When it is on his monitor has bad vibrations. The monitor is fairly new and I kept looking for something not sitting solidly on the desk or floor. Finally settled on the space heater. Just noting this because it may not just be electronics but an appliance that uses a lot of power.

    SPACE heater?

Is the desk like the Tardis then? Bigger inside than out.

    Thanks guys.
Just for you and others reading this...
I turned the TV off beside monitor, and this eliminated the display vibration.

TV was my first choice. I've see similar on test consoles, where several pieces of test equipment all had monitors. Sometimes you have to live with it. Six inches might make the difference between the TV and monitor, they have transformers that generate really high voltages, that through out one heck of a em field. Tesla would be proud, after all, he invented the majority of it.

For anybody with Bill's problem of too many monitors please note that the effect is highly directional. You can often cure it by lifting one of the monitors a few inches or standing them at slight angles to each other or even on different sides to each other etc. It is worth experimenting.
