    Hi,

Last month my computer was infected with 32 viruses, i knew how to restore the computer, but whenever i started the computer and F11 would not do anything, even though it was supposed to transport me to the restore GUI. So i tried safe mode, no dice, hung up at start-up. Finally i dared to go straight to "Normal startup"; Starts-up then no icons or task bar. I was down to starting programs from task manager. though when i tried to start explorer.exe it was "not found". I tried sysrestore.exe but it was not responding. I tried malwarebytes but when it found the viruses it magically dissapeared and was deleted, same with any reg fixing utility.

Since i didn't have a system restore disk i was up a tree.
I gave up and gave it to a tech.
Got it back all better, or so i thought.

I opened the start menu and only a couple of programs that the tech installed.

Then curious i opened "program files" and BOOM all of my other files before the virus were there. But for some reason some could still run but others didn't have a .exe or a install file. Then i found a registry backup i made before the virus, "license tampering detected". Tried system restore "not responding". Avg all of a sudden couldn't find is license number, CRAP.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Sounds like the tech you took it to restore the PC to an earlier date which means that anything installed afterwards is no longer there as far as the Windows Operating System is concerned. The files may be there but the programs are no longer registered in the registry and will have to be reinstalled. This is probably also the reason for the "license tampering" message. You could try checking to see if you can run System Restore and locate a more recent restore point from just prior to when your problem began, but this may or may not work. We don't know what you or th tech did before you came here so we can only guess. Either way, this is not really a malware problem. You may be better off posting in the Software Forum.

We can check you PC for any remnants of malware, but it is unlikely that they would be the cause of the current problems. You would have to run the READ & RUN ME FIRST cleaning procedure given in the sticky threads.
