divx playback problem

i have divx player2.5 and have the latest divx pre codecs installed.everything played fine until recently.now on several of my movies i get the error message"Four CC code dvx50 isnt installed".but it is!also g-spot reports i have all the necessary codecs.also,some movies will start to play but will be what could best be described as 'pschadelic (excuse the spelling)colors,totally a mess.bsplayer will play them but way to slow,to the point of being unwatchable.this has about got me at my wits end,lol,especially since they used to all play fine.any ideas help,would be very appreciated!

 

try resinstalling the codec

i have twice,still does same thing.i guess i could try a third time,worth a shot,i guess,i still think i have the codec,cause g-spot says i do,but i guess it could be wrong.thanks,any other ideas would be welcome also

 

well,i installed the divx pro codec for third time,but it didnt help,still having excatly the same problems.any other suggestions or ideas,thanks.(the file isnt corrupted,either)

 

It could be a memory buffer problem, empty the internet cache. Close all applications and reboot.

Instead of DivX 5 codec install ffdshow which contains post processing filters for all versions (DivX 3, 4, 5, Xvid).
First, maybe you should uninstall/reinstall DivX codecs.

I have successfully installed all codecs (on various computers) in the following order:
3.11, 3.20, 4.12, antifreeze, AC3pack, ffdshow.
