Do I have to run wmiprvse.exe or can I suspend or disable it?

  1. It is Windows Management Instrumentation. It's getting greedy with CPU. I want some more breathing room.

One source suggests going to Windows services and disabling it. http://www.ehow.com/how_5161548_stop-wmiprvseexe.html

I would prefer to suspend it with Process Explorer when it acts up.
